Apparently David Fincher, done with production on The Social Network, has finally switched his full focus over to his American remake of Swedish thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Rumors have been swirling over casting on this project for months now, with Daniel Craig apparently still in the lead to nab the role of journalist Mikael Blomkvist and names like Kristen Stewart and Carey Mulligan attached to play the fiery Lisbeth Salander. Apparently those rumors regarding Salander were way off, as the list of candidates has been narrowed down to 5 and they’re all new faces to Hollywood.
From left to right, we’ve got Emily Browning, Sophie Lowe, Sarah Snook (all these first three are Australians, go figure), Rooney Mara (featured in The Social Network as well) and last but not least, French actress Léa Seydoux. Since I’ve never seen any of these women before, I’ve officially lost all interest in this film until we get a trailer. Not going to be able to get any impressions until then.
This is totally random but somewhat related, but Emily Browning was Stephanie Meyer’s first pick/dream choice to play Bella way back in the day.
Don’t ask me why I know that. I just thought it was ironic that she’s now being considered for the role Kristen Stewart wanted..
I’m sorry, I’m not letting that one pass. Why do you know that??
