The track record on film adaptations of Philip K. Dick stories is a bit spotty, but at the least they provide some thought-provoking, intelligent sci-fi on the big screen (Blade Runner, A Scanner Darkly and Minority Report are all personal favorites of mine). Based on Dick’s short story “Adjustment Team,” The Adjustment Bureau looks similarly promising, especially with a fantastic supporting cast of character actors like Anthony Mackie, Terence Stamp and John Slattery. Throw in a score by Thomas Newman, one of my favorite film score composers (WALL-E, Revolutionary Road, Finding Nemo, Road to Perdition, American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption)? Sound good to me. Though I do just have one question:
What the hell is up with that hat Matt Damon is wearing?
